Peavey PV115 Passive Unpowered 2-Way PA Enclosure (1x15")

An outstanding value from Peavey, the PV115 PA enclosure is loaded with a tough 15" woofer and horn, and handles 400 watts program, 800 watts peak power. Unpowered. Requires separate power amplifier.
When you're ready to upgrade your PA system, nobody blends quality and value like Peavey. The PV115 loudspeaker is built like a tank and delivers a smooth response, filling your venue with clear and deep sound.

Wide Frequency Range

As front-of-house mains, Peavey PV115s offer two-way performance across the full audio spectrum. They're capable of delivering a wide frequency range, from a low 46 Hz all the way up to 21 kHz, for bomb-dropping bass, glassy highs, and everything in between with accuracy and presence. Where some loudspeakers only give you low-end boominess, the Peavey PV115's single 15-inch woofer reproduces lows and low-mids with punch and definition, so your audience will be able to lock in with the beat.. Once the crowd is feeling the groove, they'll be ready to experience the full effect of the melody. Every instrument in the band can sit in its own zone in the mix, adding texture and detail to your music.

Natural High-End Response

High frequencies are pushed through Peavey's RX14 compression driver. The 1.4-inch titanium diaphragm in the PV115 produces natural, airy top-end to complement the tight rumble of the bass frequencies. Vocals are crisp and clear, and guitars and keyboards cut through the mix with precision. The RX14 has onboard overload protection to protect the tweeter from harm. This speaker is coupled with a 40 x 60-degree constant-directivity horn to disperse the highs throughout the room. Peavey's 2.8 kHz crossover sends each read more frequency to the most efficient speaker for creamy smoothness across the entire midrange spectrum.

High-Volume Power Rating

Paired with a power amplifier or powered mixer, Peavey PV115 loudspeakers push out up to 118 dB SPL (sound pressure level). Rated at 400 watts RMS with 800-watt peaks, you can fill any venue with music. The tweeter horn's vertical orientation helps disperse sound widely even when the enclosures are set on the floor, and an integrated pole-socket is perfect for stand-mounting up high. The trapezoidal cabinet can also be tilted on its side for use as a floor monitor. Two 1/4-inch connections on each cabinet make for easy integration into any PA rig. Run them straight from your power source as mains or monitors, or daisy-chain multiple units to increase the coverage area.

Rugged, Tour-Worthy Construction

Working bands are constantly setting up and breaking down their PA systems. Night after night, city after city, it's an endless cycle of packing and unpacking. Seesawing temperatures and rough treatment will take its toll on all but the hardiest gear. Peavey enclosures are strong and rigid enough to stand up to the harshest road abuse. Heavy-duty carpet covers the cabinet, protecting the wood from scrapes and dings. A beefy metal grille spans the entire front baffle, shielding both the woofer and the tweeter from damage. It is powder-coated in black to keep a professional appearance, no matter how many times you drag it out of the van. Steel caps protect the corners, and thick steel handles make setup and transport a snap. Yet with all its ruggedness, the PV 115 speaker only weighs 53 pounds.

Excellent, clear, smooth, solid sound throughout its entire frequency range! One of best musical equipment purchases I have made in 45 yrs of doing this sort of thing!
Sound
I have to say I was amazed at how well these speakers sound! Had recently used a pair of Yamaha S115 club speakers, all other equipment was the same as is used with the Peavey's: amp, mixer, etc, but the Peavey PV115 sounded much better to me. Bought a blemished pair where both cost less than one of the Yamaha. And Yamaha was what I was shopping for.
