Shake the floor with the Peavey SP118 18" subwoofer. Pro Rider driver handles 1200 watts.
Overview
The SP118 is a subwoofer designed to make it easy to add more low end to the SP Series or other full-range speaker systems. Other uses include bass guitar, keyboard, and drum monitoring.
The enclosure is constructed of top-quality birch plywood and internal braces, aspen hardwood plywood enclosure, hammertex covering and reinforced corners.
A powder coated, perforated steel grille covers the front of the enclosure. Recessed steel handles on either side provide portability. A pole guide for the support of a pole-mounted, high-pass enclosure is provided on the top face of the SP118. Rubber feet are provided on one side for horizontal use. Rubber feet and corner casters on the bottom and a corner handle on top make moving the enclosure an easy, one person operation.
Inputs are at the rear of the enclosure, and consist of two 1/4 in. jacks and one 4-pin Neutrik Speakon jack. All inputs are parallel, with the +1 and -1 pins of the Neutrik jack connected to the Pro Rider drive and other jacks.
This low-frequency enclosure is comprised of a single 18 in. Pro Rider subwoofer driver in a vented alignment. The Pro Rider driver delivers superior performance due to its advanced cooling system, large 4 in. voice coil with edge wound aluminum wire and carbon fiber/Kevlar composite cone. This design provided strong bass extension and high power handling to complement a full-range sound system. Four high-flow molded vents provide venting and support for the grille.
As the SP118 does not… read more include a passive subwoofer crossover, input should be electronically filtered for subwoofer applications. In addition, for high power operation, a high-pass filter set at 35 to 40Hz and 12 to 24 dB Butterworth should be used to improve performance and reliability. read less

I think this will do well for us for now, I would definitely purchase a second one if the need arises. Wish some of the little quality details were better. Overall happy so far.
Sound
The sound quality of this cabinet is very good as far as basic subwoofer cabs go. It is very powerful and tight, responds well to a lot of power. I recommend making sure its powered correctly and crossed over correctly. Low distortion, no port noise or rattles. It really rounded out the sound of our mains for the live setup.
Features
Like the Neutrik Speakon NL4 connector, makes it easy to use one cable to wire the tops. Wish it had 2 Speakons. I like the fact that if the woofer blows I can replace the basket assembly cheaply and do it in the field. Locking corner protectors would be nice. Casters could have been a nice addition too.
Ease of Use
Easy to use of course, a bit big and heavy -107lbs, but built in handles make it ok. May need a hand truck or dolly board. Does fit through a standard door.
Quality
The corner protectors are a bit flimsy and thin, not sure how they are attached. Could be upgraded if necessary, they don't facilitate stacking very well if you indeed wanted to do so. The speaker pole stand mounting cup is kinda cheapish but I'm sure will do the job. The hammertex finish is nice, grille has a nice appearence but will be easily dented. When… read more I got mine, the rubber feet for the side, to facilitate laying the cab on its side, were missing. The rest of the cabinet build seems very solid.
Value
This product is a tremendous value in its price class of the "under $600" subwoofers. Yes there are others in the next price class up that are better, but if you are looking for the best bang for the buck..this is it.
Manufacturer Support
Peavey is easy to reach but they referred me right back to the dealer to solve my issue with the missing rubber feet. How the issue turns out will remain to be seen.
The Wow Factor
It is a good looking cabinet.
