Ideal for upright jazz as well as electric gigs, this 112 front ported design is based on Fuchs' 112 cabinet, and is designed for maximum low end projection with light weight. Based on the classic EV 404 Thiele design, the dimensions and porting are optimized for maximum projection and low end extension.

By using modern Liteply plywood, these cabinets are light, acoustically treated internally, and free of undesirable resonances. Fuchs' FB series bass amps are top mounted with vent provisions on both sides to allow flow-through cooling of the preamp tubes. Loud, solid, clear and clean tones are delivered by a Celestion Neo 12" driver with 300 watt capacity. The FBT300 and FBS300 amps are 150 watts as a single speaker combo, but add another 8 ohm cabinet for double the power and headroom. Like Fuchs' bass and guitar cabs the combo is covered in sprayed-on textured acrylic coating which won't tear, peel off or discolor. A stamped steel grille protects the speaker and cannot tear or fade over time like cloth would. A compartment at the rear is provided for the included line cord and access to the external speaker and power connections. It's the same size as Fuchs' 112XL bass cab with the FB amp on top, but the amp is conveniently top mounted in the cabinet. It has the same footprint as the 112XL Bass cabinet, so stacking is easy, and both are lightweight with recessed integrated metal handles.

Fuchs' cabinets are… read more CNC cut from ultralight plywood, with a poplar core with a maple jacket, which results in a lightweight cabinet with excellent resonance. The cabinets are coated in a spray coating which is not only more durable and easier to apply than tolex, but unlike vinyl coverings it doesn't damp the cabinet, allowing the cabinet to breathe and enhances the tone. Internal acoustic treatment minimizes standing waves and achieves note clarity and definition. These combos sound much larger than you'd expect from cabinets of this size and weight. All combos include an integrated extra-long power cable. Premium Penn-Elcom hardware is used throughout, as are custom-made, powder coated steel grilles, which are acoustically transparent and won't sag or tear during years of use.
