Step Up to Real Drivers, Real Construction and Real Touring-Quality Sound.

When you're ready to step up to a real PA system, Tapco's Series 69 Loudspeakers deliver. Designed by touring sound veterans, these professional-quality passive speakers are the perfect foundation for your concert sound system. For maximum portability, they are made as compact as possible without sacrificing performance or efficiency. Series 69 Loudspeakers give you premium drivers, PVC vinyl-covered wood enclosures, custom-molded thermoplastic edge bumpers and bigger sound than any big-name speaker in its class — at a much more affordable price.

Exceptional Sonic Performance
In designing the Series 69 passive speakers, Tapco called upon the loudspeaker experts at EAW to develop the most affordable and compact speakers possible without compromising sound quality or response. Each 6912, 6915, 6925 and 6918s is made to withstand the rigors of the road — particularly the high output and amazing accuracy demanded nightly by discriminating audiences. Professional 1 inch, high-output compression drivers ensure pristine high-end attack, while Mackie-designed vented woofers generate huge levels of chest-pounding bass in any venue.

Built Like A Tank
Beyond their amazing performance, these professional tone monsters are also designed to withstand the punishment of the road. Series 69 speakers are made with multi-ply Baltic birch wood — not cheap plastic or shoddy particle board like the competition. The entire acoustic chamber is made of wood, giving it the best possible response, extended low frequency output and no annoying rattles or vibrations that plague competing speakers over time. Custom molded protective edge bumpers make sure roadies can't damage your speakers or your ride. And say goodbye to ugly rat fur covering — Series 69 speakers are cased in durable PVC vinyl, so they'll survive the inevitable bumps and bruises of rigorous touring.

Protecting Your Investment
To prevent your speakers from heat damage, Tapco installed a protection circuit for the high frequency driver. If the overload sensor is tripped, the protection circuit reduces power to the driver. When the unit cools to a safe level, the circuit resets and normal operation resumes. This keeps your speakers running at optimal levels, preserving their rich sound for a lifetime of enjoyment.

Professional Components for Professional Sound
For Series 69, Tapco tested the highest quality components before installing them to ensure steadfast reliability and unparalleled value. We incorporate both Speakon and 1/4 inch TS inputs for maximum connection flexibility and daisy chaining multiple speakers. Series 69 is perfect for a variety of sound applications, from DJ rigs to rehearsal studios to medium-sized clubs or outdoor concerts. Their compact design means zero strain during transport. Series 69 consists of four models to serve a wide variety of live sound applications.

"Good for the money. Not as good as the "real" Mackies...but few are."
Feature:
More wiring options would be nice.I dont like speakon and these are 2 wire speakon with 2 poles empty -not bi-wire-l so I just took the cover off and hard wired them.

Quality:
Theres better but its hard to beat for the price.MAckie didnt put their name on it and some corners were cut-or broken plastic maybe. Crossover components seem competent, not junk , just not nothing real special.

Value:
Better than the entry level contenders and quality is fairly good...not sure I'd recommend for a professional performance unless for sound reinforcement rather than primary speakers.

Desirability:
I loved you yesterday but today its 2/15's

Sound:
These go loud and are efficient, 8 ohms.Bass is a little better than I expected but my expectations were low because of the voice coil sizes freq, response specs and low price. These are much better than the real cheap entry level speaker brands. Not a lot of distortion but they do cause listening fatigue for me.Have not pinpointed just what it is yet but I suspect its the compression horn or the midrnage playing through a 15 inch. These fill an area with music loud and clear and probably untouchable at this price point, but they do lack that special oh- so- sweet quality that makes high dollar ,high volume listening a long term pleasure.

Ease of Use:
Plug it in or take it apart and wire it up.

Support:
Have not used

Overall:
These go loud and can take a pretty good beating. Still breaking them in and finding out their limits but I have not burped them yet with a Mackie M4000 even with a bass heavy hip hop track-(though I think it could be done)

"A lot of speaker for the money"
Feature:
Real wood cabinets. YES! That itself is a BIG PLUS. Birch is the best wood to use when it comes to speaker cabs

Quality:
again, WOOD CABINETS. but,,,the so called protective corners are not going to protect anything. My speakers arrived with one corner protector cracked. Why? 2 reasons, UPS & the corners are plastic

Value:
for what I paid for 2 I could have bought one of something else with the same quality

Desirability:
These speakers have the Mackie look

Sound:
Very clear sound. I know the Tapco name from the late 70s. The high end is a little too frosty. Low end doesn't really kick in till you crank them up a little. When they first arrived I let a friends band use them at a bar gig. Fairly big size room. They ran 2 vocal mics, a mic for guitar, 2 for drums and a direct for bass. The mixer was a modest powered mixer. No distortion. I looked at the mixer and the high end was cut on the board to almost nothing. I will be using these speakers with 2 18" subs with a crossover. that should calm down some of the high end. So keep in mind these speakers lean toward the high end spectrum.

Ease of Use:
I cant believe anyone would have a problem connecting these to a mixer.

Support:
never had to deal with them

Overall:
Pretty damn good cabs. A little frosty on the high end but that can be fixed.
