Behringer's engineering knowhow and reputation for great value contribute to the B1800X PRO, their premier entry into the field of passive subwoofers. Fill out the low end and pack the dance floor!
Great Response
Many DJs and clubs have difficulties getting the most out of dance music with a traditional mains-only speaker system. Solid bass response is critical for many styles of music, from dance and urban to rock--you need the low end to compel the crowd to get on the floor and shake it. To get that full low end, there's no way around it--you need a subwoofer. The B1800X PRO features thumping bass and high power handling, with 800W RMS, and up to 1600W at peak program rating. This ensures that you'll be able to feel the bass in just about any situation. The 40 Hz frequency response makes sure those sub hits can really thump, too. Get one (or two) of these bad boys and get the party going. They operate at 8 ohms, so make sure your amp is set to match. Behringer recommends pairing this subwoofer with an EP2000 power amp, delivering ample headroom for all your low-end exploration.
Built-In Crossover
Behringer is renowned not only for their great value and sound quality, but also for making your setup simpler. In this case, they've opted to include a passive crossover within the B1800X sub, allowing you to keep your signals discrete without the need for additional gear. Using a crossover to split your signal is of extreme importance for good sound. Main PA speakers feature tweeters, horns and other high- and mid- frequency drivers, while 18-inch speakers like those found on this model are built for serious low end kick. Behringer recommends (and we agree) that 175 Hz is an ideal frequency at which to split the signal--hitting that sweet spot to give your mix the right amounts of low end boom and high frequency sweetness.
Ready For Anything
Behringer designed this subwoofer for use in a wide range of applications, and it shows. The B1800X is extremely rugged in its construction, built from environmentally friendly E1 MDF wood, and featuring recessed die-cast handles for easy transport. The cabinet features trapezoidal design, ideal for clustering with other subs. The B1800X also includes a die-cast pole socket for mounting mains in situations where ceiling mounts or independent speaker stands are unavailable. Finally, these subwoofers connect using high-quality Speakon connectors on an aluminum panel, ensuring that the connection will stay strong and safe, night after night.
The Behringer Eurolive B1800X is equipped with an 18 in. woofer that delivers 800 watts program (1600 peak) at 8 ohms and a sound pressure level of 98 dB. Typically, it would be used in combination with the Eurolive B1020/1220/1520 fullrange speaker systems to increase low-frequency performance in applications where you need more low-end power, i.e. dance clubs or rock gigs. Its newly designed die-cast pole socket makes the B1800X suitable for stacking with standard spacer rods. In addition, the new B1800X is equipped with an internal passive crossover, allowing you to build a stack without the need for additional amps or external crossovers.
