If you are a hybrid-type (multi-instruments/electronics) of producer thinking this might be your thing, it probably is. I was looking at buying the Tascam Model 12 when this got announced at NAMM, and I'm glad I waited for it. The model 12 might make more sense for some because of the analog capabilities, so yeah... So this is essentially my audio interface for studio use, but also intended to be the main board for live shows as well. I wanted to use the on-board FX and have everything routed into Bitwig and then back to the board. Took me a bit to get used to using the mixer coming from mainly using analog consoles, DJ mixers, and DAWs to do most of this in the past (first digital mixer). I like that I can output everything at whatever point in the signal flow I am looking for and there are multiple USB 'Busses you can output to. That seems more of a broadcast-type feature but I can see it being useful for livestreaming, recording to another machine (even though you have microSD recording on the console), or even piping a sub-mix of like kick/snare/hihats to a VJ for super clean audio/visual fx.I haven't gotten into doing this quite yet but it should be fine, and that's using the USB Sub for my iPad and running it to channels 5/6 on the mixer for running additional plugins/instruments. That part is kind of just a bonus feature to me initially but I can see it being really nice as I can just hook up a USB-C to my iPad and use it like another piece of hardware.Build quality seems read more great so far, typical of a nice Yamaha mixer. So far everything sounds great! Pre-amps sound great and the on-board FX are fantastic so far. I plan on using them a lot since I can route the input thru them and into Bitwig.I'll try to update this in a few weeks when I've really dug in but as of right now I'm very pleased.
