I bought this because of the heavy weighted base. I keep my guitars in rack stands when not in use but wanted to have a single secure stand where I'm seated and recording for quick access. I wanted something super secure to protect my vintage instruments. When it arrived the box was BIG and HEAVY. The stand is HUGE. Much bigger than I anticipated but I have the space. Just be prepared that a large object is going to be taking up some space. I have friends with very small studios where this might not be workable. I dont exactly like the foam cradle as it is kind of loose fitting but it appears to be by design. Would I buy it again? Yes, its the nicest stand I've ever owned and it provides secure mounting for my vintage guitars.
