Orange Super Crush 100 Solid-State Guitar Combo Amplifier (100 Watts, 1x12")

Loud and proud, the Super Crush cranks out 100 watts of solid state power. Two independent channels let you sculpt a wide range of tones, from clean to mean.

From input to output, the Super Crush 100 combo uses high-quality analogue circuitry to deliver all the immediacy, definition and character that you would expect from any of Orange's top-of-the-range valve amps. It's solid state done right.

Watch as Ty Tabor demos the Super Crush 100 in this video from Orange:

High Gain, High Versatility

Two completely independent, all-analogue preamp channels give you instant access to a whole spectrum of warm, valve-like tones. From high-headroom clean to high-gain metal, every sound you could ever need is dialed in with ease, thanks to a versatile circuit and intuitively simple control layout.

The Dirty Channel boasts four cascading stages of proper Orange gain, along with a passive 3-band EQ. Just like its all-valve stablemates, the Super Crush 100's Dirty Channel can hammer out punishing heavy tones and also clean right up, whether you're riding the guitar volume knob or the amp's wide-ranging gain control.

The Clean Channel is a bright, vintage-flavoured, two-stage design. There's plenty of headroom, keeping your clean tones shimmering and clear at any level, with the option of cranking the volume up into fat, bluesy crunch.

100 Watts of Solid State Mojo

Solid state doesn't have to be lifeless. Orange has proven that before with the Crush Pro range, and they're proving it all over again. The Super Crush 100 uses the tried and tested 100 Watt Class A/B power amp from Orange's Pedal Baby 100 to deliver all the dynamics, read more presence and feel of a big valve amp. Filling big stages is not a problem thanks to massive headroom, fantastic articulation and relentless punch.

Direct and To-The-Point

The Super Crush 100 features a balanced XLR output with Orange's CabSim speaker emulation technology. Mimicking the sound of a 212 cab, this no-nonsense, all-analogue filter gives you instant access to a great D.I. guitar tone, straight into the P.A. or recording interface. The Cab Back switch selects between the sound of an open or closed back cab, homing in on your perfect direct sound quicker than you can say "I don't need a mic."

Built-In Reverb And Fully-Buffered Fx Loop

An on-board digital reverb processor provides a lush, spring reverb ambience, adding a deep and shimmering finishing touch to your sound. Prefer your own pedals? The fully-buffered, ultra-transparent, series FX Loop takes care of all your effects needs, accommodating even the most outlandish signal chains without ever compromising your carefully-crafted tone.

Celestion Equipped

The Super Crush 100 Combo comes armed with a Celestion G12H-150 speaker, giving it a hard-hitting, classically British voice. With 150W power handling, a large H-type ceramic magnet and high sensitivity, this top-spec speaker makes the most of every Watt the amp has to offer.

I just want to start by saying that I've never owned a tube amp and I've never owned an orange amp. I've tried the boss katana, it was good, but there was something about the clean tone that didn't sit well. I tried the modeler route and was caught in the endless tweaking wormhole. I can say that it was 100% me as I have heard plenty of people who have great tones from them. I was hesitant with this amp also being a solid state. After many outlet reviews and others from YouTube I decided to go for it. I was so surprised and fell in love with it. I played for 5 hours straight the first night. It felt like 15 minutes. My pedals interacted amazingly with both channels. The reverb was very present and you might want to start from lower settings as it can get very ambient. The gain is very diverse. You can go from a light edge of breakup to some high gain. I can't remember which channel I got the tip to crank the channel volume before the master volumeto prevent the hiss. I tried it and it worked just fine. The clean was very nice. I was on the fence. I thought that maybe I should just buy the Marshall DSL 40. Even thought about the PRS Archon, for the more "affordable" prices. Then I thought about the maintenance that I have read about and the tube shortage and decided that this Super Crush was the better option for my needs. I get that this is subjective, so I'm not going to tell you that you have to buy this amp. I'm just sharing my experience and my totally subjective opinion read more about this amp. It's a great amp, not just for the money. It looks cool as heck with the orange tolex. It takes pedals great. More importantly, the sound is amazing.
