I should be happy with this for quite a while...It meets my needs in every way and the price makes it the deal of the century. I like best the variety of features that are needed on pro gigs. I like least that it is silver...I would prefer a darker metalic look like the Mackie....it blends better on stage.
Sound
The Nady PRM gives good sound right out of the box. I loaded it in my rack and attached my varitey of equipment and got a great sound. The signal was clear and strong. The only thing that is different from my Mackie board is that you have to run the main and channel signals hot with the PRM. This doesn't cause any problem with the sound, it's just that the faders don't really get sensitive and responsive until they are near the top/max. So I had to get used to adjusting the volume within much smaller range of motion than I was used to, but it is very responsive.
Features
The built in effects are handy, although I don't use them to process my voice. I use seperate processing. The but its great to use on the band members. Each channel has an insert for routing effects and that's great! The best part about the amp is that it is a 400 watt amp and board that weighs under 30 pounds, it's fully functional and great to take around to small venues...plenty of power for my Bose Speakers! Can be set to run 200 watts on house speakers and 200 watts on monitors.
Quality
It seems to be made… read more will. The finish is great, the rack ears are a little hard to mount because of the handles that are on the sides that have to be removed. I always rack mount my equipment and that seems to protect it. I can't say about taking this unit on the road if it is not rack mounted. So far, it seems to do well in the rack. The cosmtics are okay, they seem a little more delicate than a Mackie Board in terms of the finish...It's hard for me to say bacause I take really good care of my stuff...it never sees abuse.
Value
It's WAY worth the selling price....big bang for your buck!!
Manufacturer Support
I have used Nady Ear Monitors for years and contacted customer support once concerning them and it was an entirely professional experience. As far as the PRM mixer, I ordered one (one of the first sold) and cosmetically I wasn't pleased with it when it arrived. I called Nady, and they shipped me another the next day. That board was fine. The tech I dealt with at Nady was great! The customer service guys need a little training on dealing with customers in a more professional way...in other words, I don't want to see them sweat and I did see them sweat. It was a very new product and I think they were scrambling for the answers...
The Wow Factor
It's kinda sexy in a Buck Rodgers Sci Fi Way. The Looks are nice, the mechanics and smoother, although I have felt smoother faders. The best part of this item is that it is fully equipped with the best bells and whistles, it weighs under 30 pounds, it is rack mountable and will let you power your speakers with 400 watts of power...perfect for those small venues!!!
