This is the first time doing business with Zzounds and, first off, the service and pricing were excellent. I have been looking for a travel guitar to keep in my car and play while I have breaks at work. There was no way I was bringing my Martin D-28 for this purpose. First it is too big and second it cost me a small fortune, but you get what pay for. Which brings me to this little guy. Most of the travel guitars out there look sort of funky, with the exception of the Taylor which looks a lot better than the Little Martin. But the PMTE looks like an actual guitar and is half the price of the Taylor!I was amazed. It come with a built in tuner with the Fishman setup, which is super nice and sounds great plugged in! This is an all wood instrument that has a great sound. For some reason it is super easy to play as well. The fingerboard just feels right and fast. It has a really nice headstock with a nice inlay and the original Fender logo which has a nice retro look. Pretty bindings and a nice rose eye that compliments the inlays. This is a good looker for sure. Doesn’t look like a toy guitar as was my impression with its competitors. The sound is respectable. Plugged in it is great. Unplugged, it has a smaller sound which for its size is quite nice. Ok so it isn’t a $3000 guitar and I didn’t expect it to be my Martin with its awesome projection. But this has a nice sound and pretty good projection. If you need more than it can put out, plug it in. I didn’t buy this to perform read more with, but clearly it has that feel, quality and sound to do so. Plus, it comes with a super deluxe hard case, worth about $150 on its own. Add the included humidifier and there is nothing else one needs! Tremendous value for sure and a really nice warm sound. For $299 THIS IS A STEAL!Lastly, from other reviews I was expecting to have to do a setup. However, the action is spot on and the intonation was perfect. I still might set it up after a couple of weeks playing it, but the isn’t really a need to do so. I am a bit of a perfectionist but this right out of the box is perfect. This guitar, my fourth in the collection does exactly what I wanted and needed and is an awesome bargain. I highly recommend this guitar for travel. You also can perform with it, but that isn’t why I bought it. But I can say, I am totally pleased with the purchase and the service from If you need to use it for a performance, I would have zero reservations doing so. It is a solid all around performer!
