About the Concert Body Shape

The Concert is our most popular body shape, favored by players because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of a great sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when played fingerstyle, as vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum.

About Myrtlewood

Myrtlewood offers a strong fundamental with a powerful voice. Grown in the northwest, it is a favorite for many styles of playing and is used primarily for back and sides. Similar to maple, it is clear and bright with superb projection and sustain, and offers a very full and balanced sound. Highly unique, no two sets are alike.

Crafting Guitars to Fit Your Play Style

With Sound Optimization*, Breedlove individually selects and prepares each guitar top with the right stiffness (deflection) for the body shape and the playing style you prefer * more stiffness for stronger strumming - heavier play; more forgiveness for fingerstyle and lighter play.

This Concert was designed for Versitile read more Play, Multiple Styles: Breedlove crafts most guitars with a versatile *all-purpose*sound and feel * well balanced between strumming and fingerstyle play.

Breedlove Neck

Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability -- the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

I wanted a sleek modern looking acoustic-electric and Breedlove built a beautifully handcrafted piece of art that has become my daily player. Comfortable neck, nice and low action - a tiny trusty rod adjustment for the humidity of Florida. Beautiful resonant sound - much more piano-like than ‘Martin’ sounding. The bouts are a smaller than a dreadnaught- but the depth keeps it deep and resonant. The LR Baggs electronics are the best sounding that I’ve worked with. This guitar’s finish is stunning, draws attention, and I can’t wait for the myrtle to age - it’s a keeper, and I look forward to playing this for a few decades.

Sound
The sound is modern, piano like - with full spectrum chord sounds, especially upper harmonics.

Features
The neck finish is perfect, fit is comfortable, craftsmanship is top quality.

Ease of Use
I pair this with an orange acoustic pre and go straight into FRFR powered cabs. I add a mic with the orange pre when I want additional ‘natural acoustic’ sounds. The LR Baggs works phenomenally with the orange acoustic pre.

Quality
Attention to detail is what you’d expect for a handmade guitar of this price. Zero issues in craftsmanship or finish. It’s flawless other than the wear and tear I’ve put on it.

Value
I would buy another Breedlove, definitely. I’ll be shopping their smaller bodies read more soon.

Manufacturer Support
After registering on the Breedlove site, they actually reached out and sent a ‘welcome to Breedlove’ package with some goodies.

The Wow Factor
The finish on myrtle is really a stunner - the satin finish on the back of the neck is smooth and ever-so playable. This is a guitar that grabs attention when it’s seen.
