Electro-Voice TX1152FM TourX Monitor (1x15")

No longer available at zZounds
Supervise your sound with this ElectroVoice monitor. It delivers pristine audio with a low-distortion woofer and signal synchronized transducer technology.

An undeniable combination of functional good looks, compact design and engineering breakthroughs, Tour X FM will redefine the world of stage monitors for years to come. Harkening back to the globally accepted EV FM series, the TX1122FM and TX1152FM take that legacy and advance it with a healthy dose of innovative Electro-Voice engineering. The most notable innovation is the split baffle design with patent pending SST (Signal Synchronized Transducers) technology. A split baffle creates two very important benefits: moving the acoustic origins of the compression driver and woofer close together, and the split in the baffle becomes the port, allowing the entire enclosure to become much more compact. The result is "signal synchronized" with near perfect phase summation! The aesthetically unique Backbone grille not only looks great, but also provides greater strength and damage resistance than simple grille block designs. Proprietary ergonomically correct handles and angled input panels make the TourX FM models easy to transport and set up in critical stage monitoring applications.

It has the best sound that I've ever heard and I'm very particular about quality. If something were to happen to all our speakers, I would replace them with Electro Voice TX1152 TourX speakers in a heart beat.

Sound
We are Resurrection Bound a southern gospel quartet and were using Peavvey 12" monitors and were looking for something with a fuller sound and less feedback. We tested two different upgrade models of Peavey 15" Monitors and a Community 15" monitor. These were okay but when we tried the Electro Voice TX1152FM TourX monitors we could hardly believe our ears. They were so clear that we could hear sounds that we never new were there before. They had the full range from very low to the highs with no distortion and the loudness was incredible with virtually no feedback.

Features
I was hesitant about the vertical design before we tested them, but now I love them. I love the way the cord plugs in the back, it is out of the way and hardly noticeable. The only thing is they are just a little awkward to handle and transport without fear of damage but with there sound being so good we will figure something out.

Ease of Use
We had been using a DriveRack auto eq for the monitors but it is being repaired and after using the Electro Voice TX1152FM TourX monitors I doubt that we will even need the DriveRack.

Quality
We have always used Peavey but we ordered read more two 15" monitors and when they arrived one was broken. We sent it back and ordered another one but when it arrived it was broken. So we sent all back and tried the Electro Voice TX1152FM TourX monitors and they arrived in good condition. It was a good decision as we handle our equipment alot.

Value
A lot more bang for the buck and also not a giant in size.

Manufacturer Support
No issues.

The Wow Factor
The design is great for sound, just a little awkward to handle.
