Manufacturer's Description for Audix OM3 Dynamic Hypercardioid Handheld Microphone

The OM3, first introduced in 1989, is the original VLM technology high-output vocal microphone. An American-made hand-held vocal microphone designed for live performance, the OM3 is characterized by a hypercardioid pickup pattern and a uniform frequency response of 50-18kHz. An excellent choice for any size stage, the OM3-xb can provide over 25 dB of feedback rejection off-axis and is able to handle extremely high levels of gain without distortion. Transformerless design, low impedance, and balanced output allow interference-free performance even with long cable runs. The OM3 produces a highly accurate, natural sound with slight bass proximity. A dent-resistant spring-steel grill and sound pressure handling capabilities in excess of 144dB add to the OM3's road-worthiness.

Sound: Cleaner than a Beta 58 with the same smooth character of a Sennheiser 845 but with more output. Feature: Good Mice Clip, nice Mic Bag with stand thread adapter. Ease of Use: Pretty good right out of the box. Set the gain and you're good to go. Can be a little Bass Heavy with some voices. Hit the high pass and you're done. Quality: Build Quality comperable to the workhourse SM58. If it gets dirty just throw it in the wash, let air dry and you're good for the next gig - JK Road worthy Mic that can hold its own against all competitors. Value: Great Bang for the Buck. You could pay more...but you won't be buying a better Mic. Manufacturer Support: Audix has one of the Best Customer Support departments in the business. These guys are Mic Nuts. If you have an idea to make the product better (don't hurt yourself trying) give them a call and don't be surprised if you see an upgrade. Try that with the other guys... The Wow Factor: Great Black finish. Stands out from other mics. Slender design that is easy to hold. Has some heft to it. Feels expensive. Overall: I'll be using the OM3 for vocal and general purpose use for a loooong while. There is no such thing as the perfect mic or the "do it ALL" mic. Lets just say this is one that you should have in your Tool Kit if you plan on making money in Live Sound.

Sound: The over all sound quality is great I have not tried the om 5-7 but this one blows a sure sm 58 55 out of the water this is a great stage mic Feature: its light an durable Ease of Use: It's a mic if you have a learning curve Welll..... Quality: again its light an durable i have had mine for two years no problems Value: well worth it for the money Manufacturer Support: never a problem and as i have heard they don't have many quality issues Audix top notch company The Wow Factor: it is sleak Overall: this mic will last for years to come next i am getting a om5 or a om7
