I've been playing for over forty years and have been through more amps than I can remember. I remember hearing my guitar instructor playing through a Mark IIb in the 80s and thinking this is the greatest tone I've ever heard. Now that I'm in my late 50's, I finally have the means to own a true Mesa. After much research, I landed on the Mark V 35 combo and I regret nothing. This amp is a feat of engineering. There really isn't a tone or amp DNA that you can't find. Cleans are gorgeous (and there are many variations) and the gain tones are superb. I'm using mine with a Two Notes Captor X plus for recording and honestly, its the most pro rig I've ever experienced. They're not cheap, nor should they be. There's a ton of research in these amps and that's worth something. This amp has made me a better guitarist.
