Live-mix up to four sources such as piezo pickups, magnetic pickups, standard mics, and high output condenser mics.
Overview
Solstice is a high quality two channel preamp mixer that blends virtually any type of sound source. The low-noise hybrid circuitry and internally adjustable gain from 0 to 24db make it suitable for both live and studio use. Solstice is the perfect solution for musicians looking to live-mix up to four sources such as piezo pickups, magnetic pickups, standard mics, and high output condenser mics.
Features
1/4 in. and XLR inputs on each channel: Allows either a microphone or pickup input on either channel
Balanced XLR mic input with true gain control for optimum headroom and lowest noise: Very low noise and high common mode rejection ratio. Utilizes discrete hybrid circuitry as in high end mixing consoles
Full 3 way level / clip indicator: Helps set optimum gain for best headroom and signal to noise ratio
Phase reverse switch: Helps control acoustic feedback
Channel effects loop with send and return jacks: Can be used as independent signal output or as insertion point for external signal
Mute switch: Allows complete shut off of rig
Tuner output (unaffected by mute switch): Allows quiet tuning
Stereo input jack: Allows access to both channels with one stereo cable
External wall mount power supply: Allows AC operation
High quality components: Extremely low noise and distortion, audiophile quality sound
Mic stand adapter available as an option: Useful for on-stage applications that use a microphone stand. Allows the performer to have full access to the front panel while… read more facing the audience read less

i have found my solstice and won't need to play with any other manufactuer. i wouldn't be able to get the same performance for a price any less, and i wouldn't pay anymore to test a different product
Sound
you get what you pay for, and when you pay for the solstice you get that and more! i have used the solstice for my upright bass to split frequency of a stereo wired pick up. i get the best range of tone i've ever had! and with a blended xlr output, i have the freedom of plaing gigs without lugging around heavy amplifiers!!!
Features
there are accessories available however not included. it is pretty difficult to locate an ac adapter if you loose the one supplied.
Ease of Use
lots of functions on the solstice when using with an amplifier (used as a pre-amp)it can be difficult to find your tone.
Quality
i've dropped it, it's been chipped and still works like new! finding replacement parts can be difficult.
Value
it is worth the price! i've used other makers' similar products, and there is no comparison!
Manufacturer Support
there aren't many vendors, and reaching dtar isn't easy unless you live in santa barbara.
The Wow Factor
looks great if you plan on placing it next to an old 70's model cabinet stereo
