Overview
New for 2004, Crate introduces an entirely new range of acoustic amplifiers. The technology in the new Crate acoustic series is unique, with preamp circuits you can tailor for piezo or active systems. Their new feedback elimination circuits are efficient and simple to use. They even include the ability to automatically eliminate feedback at two different frequencies. Crate uses special studio monitor-style speakers with polypropylene cones and rubber surrounds in ported cabinets for tight, even bass response. Every CA amp has a high frequency component for crisp, clear highs. The CA6110DG model includes special features for live performance like XLR & 1/4 in. balanced line out with level control which does not affect your stage volume. It also has ground lift on the line out, tweeter level control, effects loop and a two button footswitch for internal reverb/effects and chorus switching. Also included is a wide array of reverbs, delays, chorus and multiple effects settings.

"If this thing said Bose on it instead of Crate, people would believe it and pay twice as much!"
Unless some probelm pops up, I don't expect be purchasing another acoustic amp for maybe another 10 years.
Sound
I've been playing for 30 years. Have owned many different electric and acoustic systems and usually will pay for better equipment if the sound justifies it. I play a Taylor GS with B-Band acoustic pickup system. While deciding to buy, I took my guitar to the stores 3 times to play through the available acoustic amps: Fishman, Roland, Fender, GenzBenz and the Crate. This 60W amp wowed me with its clean sound and ability to reproduce the warm mid-ranges of my Taylor. The only other amp the I thought sounded close was the Fishman. I play a show live last weekend and it sounded fantastic. Both through the house PA and just stage mix. I'm happy.
Features
The features that matter to me are having two independent highly tailorable inputs. My other guitar is an old Guild D25 with an old pickup in the hole, so it needs quite a bit of different knob positioning. I also found the adjustable line volume out invaluable when working with the PA system. I could have my stage mix at my volume without overpowering the house PA. The effects are nice, if a bit limited, but switching back and forth between 2 effects using the footswitch is great. Oh yeah -- the feedback control system WORKS GREAT. The only reason this is a 9 rating is that I don't care for the plastic used at the jack nuts. I want 100% metal… read more for ultimate toughness. It's a perception thing with me, but I guess they have to do something to keep prices down.
Ease of Use
I got this on Friday and was playing out with it on Saturday night. Super Easy. Need I say more?
Quality
Again -- I'm giving it a 9 for the plastic used at some of the connectors. Haven't had it loing enough to know long term but Crate quality is way way up over the past 5 - 10 years or so.
Value
If you plot price vs sound. this amp wins. if you plot price vs quality this amp wins. There are probably better amps out there but I don't think there is a better value.
Manufacturer Support
I have some other Crate gear. I've only ever had one real issue and they replaced the unit without much hassle. Would be 10 if I'd never had an issue.
The Wow Factor
Very good looking amp. Honestly the only downside is that Crate's old reputation for questionable quality takes away from the badge appeal when people see the name. If this thing said Bose, people would believe it and pay twice as much.
