Overview
Guild's 40 Standard Series. Featuring a smooth closed-pore texture and a hand sprayed soft, silky coating the Vintage Gloss finish gives each guitar a worn-in vintage feel and tone with a sleek, modern appearance.
Achieve incredible clarity, balance, and volume with this jumbo-sized F-40 Standard. With it's solid Sitka Spruce top with solid African Mahogany back and sides, the F-40 Standard serves up a robust tonal palette that's perfect for anything from vocal accompaniment to solo work, and many other "unplugged" applications. Its predecessor, the F-48 Navarre, was only produced from 1972 to 1976 and original versions are a rare treasure. Today's version manifests the same vintage charm with timeless appointments such as a tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, white ABS binding, and Guild's peak logo inlay on the headstock.
Guild adds forward-shifted scalloped Adirondack bracing for power, nuance and responsiveness. Combined with a Sitka Spruce top and African Mahogany back and sides, this bracing provides a punchy tone with smooth top end.
An Indian Rosewood fingerboard caps the comfortable C-profile Mahogany neck. Premium materials such as an Indian Rosewood bridge, 20:1 open-gear tuners, and a hand-cut bone nut and saddle finish off the F-40 Standard.
Each F-40 Standard ships with a Guild archtop wood case with built-in Humicase humidification system.
