Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I've played for over 40 years, I'm not a professional musician and rarely play out; but I do play a lot at home and IMO this is the best VALUE "name brand" guitar multi-FX pedal on the market. It's super affordable, very easy to use, sounds terrific, and is a total blast to play!No... this pedal is not perfect and not "pro quality", but that's not what it's about. IMO, this pedal is all about having FUN while playing your guitar and getting better. In fact, this is the FIRST of TWO guitar pedals I recommend for every novice guitarist - and I've made two videos about it: https://youtu.be/T686vo6zoI0 (quick start) and https://youtu.be/pROblpMuFF8 (first two pedals)Tons of digital FX, plenty of great sounding drum patterns, a 30-sec looper w/ overdubbing, built-in tuner, works w/ Guitar Lab software, and both electric AND acoustic sound GREAT thru the pedal. It's a winner across the board and worth every penny of the price!

Sound
Overall sound quality is pretty good out of the box, especially the drum tracks, and VERY good after tweaking. (IMO many of the factory patches are "too much" by default. Some are too loud or too saturated w/ FX. Some sound great as is.) Yes - it works just as well on acoustic as electric, though most of the factory patches are obviously designed for electric (rock) guitar.

Features
Most useful features: - Easy to use (primary operating modes) - AUX stereo input (play along w/ your favorite songs read more or jam tracks) - On-board rhythm tracks (that sound great) - On-board looper (30-sec + overdubbing)- Guitar Lab software compatible

Ease of Use
Thanks to the completely updated user interface, the learning curve is very short - but here's a quick-start video to get you going: https://youtu.be/T686vo6zoI0

Quality
This is not a pro-quality pedal for touring musicians. It's a rock-out-at-home-in-your-socks pedal that you can also gig with.

Value
Come on... a mutli-FX pedal w/ on-board rhythm and looper for $100 ??? Yeah, it's absolutely positively worth the price.

Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt w/ Zoom support.

The Wow Factor
The major appeal of the Zoom G1X FOUR is simplicity, features, sound quality, and most of all: FUN FACTOR !!!
