Analog
In some areas analog production with its smooth, even sound, actually out-performs digital. TC Electronic's SCF is the best sounding chorus pedal in the world and just as important; the best sounding guitar effects of any type available anywhere! The SCF's specs blow many digital boxes away for example signal-to-noise ratio of 100dB and frequency response that doesn't rob your sound of any of its hard earned character. On top of this, the SCF has a silkiness un-matched by digital units that turn your signal into little clumps of numbers, no matter how discreetly they do so.Effects
The SCF is actually 3 stereo effects in one: chorus, pitch modulation, and flange. Selected by a central toggle switch, all modes share same operative controls. Speed selects sweep rates from 0.1 (one sweep every 10 seconds) to 10 (ten sweeps per second), and can be used to create excellent tremolo effects (a la Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Couldn't Stand the Weather").Width controls the depth of the effect, with a low setting producing that aforementioned subtle trem. Intensity acts differently for each of the SCF's 3 modes. When chorus is selected, Intensity controls the level of… read more blend between the chorus and clean signal. In Flange mode, it controls the intensity of comb filter phasing -- acting much as a feedback control would.
Solidness
The SCF's solidly constructed unit is powered by a regular AC power chord, so there's no adapter or battery to worry about. Other outstanding features include an onboard preamp/line driver, which allows the SCF to work in a whole range of applications and also helps reduce signal loss along long cables; an overload LED (even overloaded, it was hard to make this unit sound bad -- none of that horrible ripping that is produced by overdriven digital boxes); and remote bypass, for taking the SCF off the floor. There's even an LED that shows the effect's status and blinks at the currently selected sweep rate. The SCF is easy to use, super clean, and possessing incredible sound.Features:

"Great Chorus Pedal"
Verified Purchaser
zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
This pedal is powerful. In fact it has a preamp built into it that may overpower your less expensive delay pedal, at least that is what I have found. The chorus is rich and full of bell tone sparkle. Right out of the box it was easy to dial in. I have experimented with it placed in the front of the amp and in the FX Loop of my Marshall JVM410H head and both sound awesome. You will love this pedal!
