Tama Stewart Copeland Signature Snare Drum

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
A recreation of Copeland's snare drum from the early eras of The Police, Tama's Stewart Copeland signature snare features a brass shell and piercing attack.
Overview
The Stewart Copeland snare drum, a Tama signature model, is a faithful reproduction of the snare drum of mysterious provenance that he used with the Police and everything else from that time period. A brass shell that's 0.5mm thicker than the standard 1mm shell and the combination of a die-cast batter hoop with a triple flanged bottom hoop provides sounds that easily penetrate what Copeland describes as the dirge from the bass and the ear-piecing sounds of a guitar.

"Great sound!"
Sound
This snare is very versatile. It has a nice crack to it, and even a little ring with the Remo coated head that comes with it. I've put on an Evans Genera Dry batter head to take out the ring and give it a little warmth, and it sounds great. As advertised, it really cuts through the rest of the band, even without microphones.
