Now with casters!

Looking for the quality of high-end amps, with the price of lower end equipment? The Workman Series was built specifically with you in mind, then. The Workman 15 has all the power your looking for, without all the price. Along with the features that come with every workman amp (solid-state preamp, active 3-band EQ, a custom SWR woofer, built-in Limiter and Aural Enhancer, a balanced XLR direct out, sidechain Effects Loop with Blend control, a tuner output, and stereo headphone jack); it also has 160 watts of power (200 with the extension speaker), a 15" driver, and a piezo tweeter. The price says, "low end," the quality says, "high end."

Perfect for small to medium size gigs. Best of all, the new model comes with built-in casters for easy tilt and roll convenience.

Sound
As combo amps go, this is certainly the best that I've run across for the price. You could go up to the Black Beauty model for another $400, but the price to sound quality ratio doesn't warrant it. The only thing that I would say is a down-side tot his amp is that, becasue it is a combo, it is very challenging to get that really BIG sound that you might want for knocking some sense into your guitar player. You know, when he starts thinking HE is the show! You can still blast him pretty good though, but not enough to make him dizzy. Regardless of all of that, this amp is a genuine "workingman's" dream. Why? Because it is small, light and efficient to no end. With the added advantage of having a balanced line out just in case you are in a bigger room that the amp cannot fill independently. But for most clubs, even ones that fit 200+, this rig will carry through very well. As for everyone's statements within these rating pages about the amp being overpriced or expensive............you have to pay for quality. Go ahead and save the $200 and buy another brand such as a Hartke Kickback or Ampeg Rocket, you'll be sorry you did.

Quality
Top shelf design and construction. You can beat the snot outta this thing and nobody would ever be the wiser. Mine has traveled miles upon miles and it never seems to show any true signs of fatigue. Even the cone seems to be impervious to wearing out. I should read more say though, that if you play the hell out of yours (as in really LOUD!), that may not be the case. I did like the older models with the "shelf" on the front. Made a good seat in practice and a helluva ash tray holder at the gig!

The Wow Factor
Put the shelf face back on it!
