Solid cedar top. Piezo/microphone electronics.

This is the first time that Seagull has given a model as specific a designation. The GT QII is a new model inspired by the idea of combining three new things that Seagull is particularly excited about. Seagull's new gloss-top finish, the new Quantum II electronics, and the revolutionary Fort EPP case.

The gloss-top finish is made with genuine lacquer and it's about the same thickness as Seagull's semi-gloss finish but buffed to a high luster. This is truly a great breakthrough in that the guitar has the added responsiveness provided by an extra light finish along with the great looks of high-gloss.

S Series
The guitars that make up the Seagull S series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the S series models are made from a three-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. S series guitars feature very smooth necks made from silver leaf maple.

Performance Package
The S6+ CW Cedar GT QII comes equipped with the Godin Quantum II dual-source electronics system and a Fort EPP case -- a complete recording/performing package.

The Godin EPM Quantum II
The Godin EPM Quantum II acoustic guitar system provides outstanding sound reproduction and performance.

The Quantum II is a hybrid system combining read more an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer and high quality electret microphone in a simple, but very effective, configuration. The microphone capsule, specifically designed for use in this application, is mounted at the end of a 6 inch flexible boom integral to the side mount electronics. Four rotary controls adjust microphone presence, phase, overall volume, and the saddle transducer bass and treble. Electronics and controls are packaged in an easy to use and logical format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate.

Microphone signal can be added and blended either in phase or out of phase with the saddle transducer signal. This allows the user to cancel (or notch) potentially undesirable frequencies while accentuating others. This flexibility in combining signals results in outstanding clarity and richness of tone.

The Wow Factor
Interesting question, haha. Uhm, i think it does, it's a good looking guitar. However, you should not buy a guitar just because it looks good. You should really listen to it, and decide if that's what you want to sound like. There are a million different guitars out there,
