First, I’m not a schecter fan. I’ve owned American strats, US Artist series strats etc. I’ve never liked the feel of Gibson necks or Les Paul guitars, but love their tone. So I was looking for a more aggressive double hum bucker guitar, and tried the Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid. Absolutely loved it. Amazing guitar that I’d honestly compare to guitars costing 3 times as much. So I though I’d try another schecter. This doesn’t come close to the hellraiser hybrid. Calling this a super shredder is kinda out there as the neck is pretty beefy compared to other shred guitars. The EMG bridge pickup sounded terrible and in no way pairs with the neck pickup. The emg pickup was also cut weird, jagged on a side… maybe a defect all around. The middle position added a barely audible neck pickup to the bridge, and sometimes not audible at all… probably a defect. Note: I’ve played guitars with sustainiac pickups before, didn’t have this issue. Sustainiac worked perfectly, so I don’t feel it was a battery issue, more likely wiring. Overall, the guitar had the best set up out of box I’ve ever seen. I almost feel like someone paid for a pro setup, then changed their mind, and I reaped the benefits. But, with the switching issue, bad pairing of pickups… it’s just not for me. All these may be defects and may not be issues universally with this model Idk.
