If you are looking for a LP style guitar, or are looking at buying an actual Gibson LP, look no further as the Custom Solo II is incredible!I bought a Gibson Custom Shop Signature Joe Perry about 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I had to sell it 4 years later to get money for a move out of state. I paid close to $5000 dollars for that guitar new. I have always loved LP style guitars and decided I wanted another one, however, I did not want to pay $4000-$5000. I did my homework and landed on the Custom Solo ii after hearing a review from a trusted source. I was not disappointed at all!!!Upon getting the guitar, I looked everything over closely. I could not find a single flaw at all. The build quality is absolutely flawless. The pick-up's are very good overall pick-up's. The coil splitting is superb. The locking tuners keep the guitar in tune, and I like that they are bigger than your typical locking tuners. The finish is superb along with the binding work. The fret work was masterfully done as I have zero "fret sprout". The nut is perfectly done. The volume and tone knobs are not loose. I love the "comfort contouring" of the "Cutaway". I also love the heel pad/bracing where the neck meets the headstock. The satin finish on the neck is a huge plus. I bought the aged black satin finish and the aged look of the binding is just incredible. The neck is very comfortable. The tight grained Ebony Fretboard plays like a dream. The Stainless Steel Jumbo Frets make string bending easy as pie. read more There is literally not a single downside I can say about this guitar as it is a professional quality guitar that was built with attention to detail. This guitar is so good that I actually like it better than the Custom Shop Gibson Signature LP that I owned. The only thing I find myself missing between the two is the 2nd Tone Knob as my Gibson CS LP had 4 knobs, two for volume, 2 for tone. This is not a big deal though. If I really want a 2nd tone Knob I can have one added and still will have paid several thousand less. In a nutshell, If Gibson had made this guitar, you would be paying a minimum of $3000-$4000 for it. And in the opinion of a guy who has owned both, I prefer this one!
