You are probably a pianist at heart. At its heart, the A90EX is a Grand Piano. The 88-note keyboard offers the unsurpassed Roland PA4 hammer action with channel aftertouch, giving you the expressive action of a fine acoustic keyboard. And to create a sound that is equally expressive, Roland engineers embarked upon an incredible period of R+D. They evaluated the world's finest concert Grands and then selected and painstakingly sampled every note of the two best instruments. The result just has to be heard to be believedÖit's that good! And the two stereo Grands are just the beginning: there are 128 patches in all, including various styles of acoustic pianos, a variety of electric pianos including classic Rhodes sounds and a generous selection of synthesizer textures. 64-voice polyphony and excellent built-in effects (including several types of reverb and chorus, as well as high-quality EQ) give you all the capacity and texture you need.

The A90EX offers a range of functions for simple, yet complete control of even the most complex MIDI setup. The ergonomically designed front panel is equipped with large buttons that are easy to locate, even on dimly lit stages. These buttons give you instant control over any element in your setup, from additional sound sources to effects to external sequencers. And the A90EX can handle any MIDI setup with its 4 MIDI outputs. Unlike parallel outs, these MIDI outs are completely independent, allowing you to operate up to 64 MIDI channels simultaneously.

While the one-touch editing of onboard parameters is a joy to use, the control of external devices is simply amazing: Total Volume and Global Transpose let you affect changes on your entire rig without affecting the volume and transpositional relationships between instruments. You can easily control external sequencers from the A90EX's front panel. The innovative Patch Name Display feature displays patch names of external sound sources. Altogether, the A90EX features more than 20 different controls and connectors providing instant access to internal and external devices. And you can assign different parameters to these controls, giving you a range of expressive options for performing and managing your setup.

Finally, the A90EX can store up to 64 Performances, which may consist of up to four of the A90EX's preset Patches along with various user-configurable parameters such as zone, effects on/off and MIDI channel.
