After careful sourcing and testing, Quilter packed in three historical treasures: a '60 Tweed, a '62 Blonde, and a '65 Blackface. Combining forces with world-class speaker manufacturer Eminence, Quilter developed a super-sonic 12-inch speaker that delivers all of the charm of classic low powered speakers, but with 50 watt power handling; a speaker that's first in its class. Was able to compare this amp with a Blackstar club 40 at an outdoor event at pretty high volumes and this thing sounded so close! To my ears it sounded better! I can not believe the clean volume this amp can achieve! Light as a feather! You will have to play with the eq to get the right results but its pretty easy to dial it in. I put treble and mids at 25% and gain bass and limiter at 12 o'clock.. The blackface input sounds really good when you're going straight into the amp. But if you're using pedals (in my case a Headrush Gigboard) the tweed seems to respond more naturally. The blonde is a little harsh but might work with the right guitar. If it's built to last (which I'm sure it is) it'll be my #1!
