Peavey Session-LTD 400 Preamp Pedal

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Known for its high-headroom, clean sound -- and a favorite of pedal steel players -- the Session 400 amp's tone has been shrunk into a convenient pedal.

The Peavey Session- LTD 400 Preamp pedal emulates the revered preamp circuit of the original Peavey Session 400 Limited amplifier from 1974, renowned for its pristine, transparent tone that has captivated steel players for decades. Designed in the USA, the Session-LTD 400 brings vintage steel guitar sound to modern pedalboards.

Accurately replicating the original preamp circuit, this pedal faithfully replicates the design's vintage tones, with several modern improvements. The miniaturization of the original discrete transistor circuitry allows for greatly improved hum and noise characteristics, as compared to the original Session 400 amplifier, and the construction techniques provide maximum durability and noise immunity in all environments. This pedal provides all of the tone of the original with none of the original weight, and the output can be used as an alternate channel or frequency selective boost to drive any amplifier's input or effects return via a footswitchable hard bypass circuit with click-free operation.

In addition to being a perfect clean preamp for pedal steel and other instruments, it is also useful for overdriving the input of tube amplifiers and the SENSITIVITY control has enough range to drive low sensitivity power amp inputs, directly. Using a heavy-duty die cast enclosure, durable connectors throughout, metal knobs and metal shaft pots with bushings, this pedal can run from either a standard 9v supply (for a limited time), or can provide noise free read more operation with Peavey's standard negative tip 9VDC outboard supply (Peavey #30908180). All Peavey Legacy Series Preamp Pedals are EMC and FCC complaint with worldwide agency safety approvals lifetime of reliability.

Introduced in 1974, the original Peavey Session 400 Limited amplifier was developed with input from steel guitar legends like Curly Chalker and Buddy Emmons. Designed to focus on delivering a clear, clean tone allowing the nuances of steel guitar to shine through and setting a new standard for steel guitar amplification. To this day, it is still one of the most coveted steel guitar amps around the world.

Wow! Having played a LTD-400 for many years, this is like going back in time. It is very very close to what I looked for in a clean powerful jazz amp . I talked to a steel player friend yesterday that says the same thing using it for his steel guitar. Peavey got this one right.
