Overview
The SE Mark Tremonti provides a powerful voice and classic PRS aesthetic for players ready to rock. Through his solo work and as the lead guitarist of Alter Bridge and Creed, Tremonti has made a name for himself as a heavy rock player with melodic strength. The Tremonti "S" pickups are paired with dual volume and tone controls, offering the articulate aggression needed to cover Tremonti's tonal demands. Additional appointments include a shallow violin carve with flame maple veneer, wide thin maple neck, and a trem-up route, making the SE Mark Tremonti fast to play and hard to put down.

"A great guitar for the heavier side of music, but also still very good and articulate for clean tones."

I've never been a particular fan of Mark Tremonti or any of his bands, but I gotta say, these pickups designed to his specs sound really good- more beef than the 85-15s without sacrificing any of the top-end clarity. I tend to live on the bridge p/u on most guitars I play, but with the tone dialed back to about 5-7, depending on the guitar. With this Tremonti, I can actually leave the tone for the bridge pickup turned all the way up without getting too twangy, and if I want a little more bottom, I flip the selector switch to the middle position, engaging both pickups with the bridge volume all the way up and the neck at about 8.5. This guitar is a little heavier than other PRSs, but not so much as to be uncomfortable- it's the heft of authoritative tone. The neck is for all practical purposes the same as the PRS wide-thin carve, just a little thinner at the nut and a tad thicker at the 12th fret, so if you're familiar with and like that carve, you'll find this guitar very playable. As far as the aesthetics, that's obviously a matter of individual taste, but the charcoal-burst finish is very much to mine, and I do like those lampshade knobs.
