"A great guitar for the heavier side of music, but also still very good and articulate for clean tones."

I've never been a particular fan of Mark Tremonti or any of his bands, but I gotta say, these pickups designed to his specs sound really good- more beef than the 85-15s without sacrificing any of the top-end clarity. I tend to live on the bridge p/u on most guitars I play, but with the tone dialed back to about 5-7, depending on the guitar. With this Tremonti, I can actually leave the tone for the bridge pickup turned all the way up without getting too twangy, and if I want a little more bottom, I flip the selector switch to the middle position, engaging both pickups with the bridge volume all the way up and the neck at about 8.5. This guitar is a little heavier than other PRSs, but not so much as to be uncomfortable- it's the heft of authoritative tone. The neck is for all practical purposes the same as the PRS wide-thin carve, just a little thinner at the nut and a tad thicker at the 12th fret, so if you're familiar with and like that carve, you'll find this guitar very playable. As far as the aesthetics, that's obviously a matter of individual taste, but the charcoal-burst finish is very much to mine, and I do like those lampshade knobs.
