The Luke 3 is Steve Lukather's Ernie Ball Music Man signature guitar. The slightly larger body and familiar soft v neck shape provide a comfortable feel while the DiMarzio Transitions pickups provide a dynamic range of tones. The Music Man preamp maintains even volume over all 5 of the pickup selections and offers up to 12 dB gain boost accessible from the push/push tone pot.

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and have owned all types guitars and makes.But this Luke 3 is like no other. First it arrived ready to play. Flawless setup and the quality is perfect. Played out of a Marshall and Friedman and it smokes. Very diverse sounding guitar. I really enjoy the sound on each pick up switch selection is the same. Meaning the output on volume is consistent. As Steve mentions, it is between a Les Paul and Strat. Two of my favorite guitars. The feel of the birds eye neck is just fantactic. Great output on both pickups but volume rolls down nicely. Perfect guitar for any style of music. I fell onto this guitar by accident and what a great find. Weight is perfect, not too light and not heavy.Finish is very cool and beautiful. One thing to keep mind. Frets are not jumbo and may need time to get used to; but it did not take me long. I play the Luke 3 everyday and difficult to put down with the many sounds that come out of this ax. Do yourself a favor and get one of these today. zZounds is the best place to purchase period.
