The Mackie DLM12S powered subwoofer delivers massive bass output, and sports a number of unique features that help you craft your low-end tone with more range and precision than ever before. The DLM12S moves a mighty amount of air with up to 2,000 watts of continuous power through a custom-made 12-inch heat treated woofer with a 3-inch coil.

This compact sub is rugged enough to handle any gig you throw at it -- yet weighs in at only 47 pounds. That's ridiculously lightweight!

Sweeten Your Sound with Onboard Digital Processing

The DLM12S is distinguished by its integrated Mackie DLP digital processor. This one-touch digital processor is accessed via the bright OLED screen on the rear of the subwoofer. It gives you presets for use with other Mackie DLM and SRM Series full-range loudspeakers, in order to complement the full-range setup better. It also gives you a Variable Crossover control that allows you to adjust for non-Mackie tops as well. This DLP design allows the entire full-range system to work better as a whole. It minimizes interference and frequency cancellation, while delivering an overall pure and powerful sound.

The DLM12S's onboard DSP includes an Alignment Delay that can be set up to 300ms for situations where distance between the woofer and the other speakers causes timing discrepancies. And once you've got the Crossover and Alignment Delay set perfectly for the room, you can save these settings in up to three presets (like for home, the club, the studio, etc).

I am a club dj who recently moved to a small town where no bars/bar-clubs have their own sound system. So far I have used these for 5 gigs(paired with 2 DLM 12 tops) and I must say for the size they sound amazing. Please note you will have to make adjustments on the internal gains (subs and tops) and the internal eq (on the top speakers) to get the optimum sound, but once you have them dialed in they sound as good if not better than a "pair" the Bose L1s with the L2 subs. *Also once you get them dialed in you can save all your settings as one of the default presets. As I said though right out of the box they may not sound phenomenal, but with all the options for "tweaking" the sound you can get them to sound amazing. The only issue I have had is running this system with the spm 300 poles (that go from the sub to the 12" tops). I kept getting knocking and odd vibration sounds when I would crank them up. After speaking with Mackie support and doing some tests I found that placing the subs right next to each other (which will typically give you roughly a 3db boost anyway) and then placing the dlm 12" tops on tripods it not only corrected the issue but made the system sound even more full. This as opposed to having one sub and one top on each side of my table. As with anything speaker placement is key. Will it thump as loud as a QSC setup with 18" subs...nope but it will be a lot cleaner sound and will easily do venues for about 150-200 people (once again 2 dlm… read more 12s and 2 dlm 12 tops). Plus you wont have to break your back or need help setting this system up. My main car is a Mini Cooper S and this whole system my lights and everything else I need fit in it (tightly but hey it still fits).
