The Kramer Eruption Treble Humbucker pairs double black bobbins with an alnico 5 magnet for bright, high output tones destined to inspire your shredding.

Developed by Master Luthier Jim DeCola and based on his groundbreaking pickup designs for legendary Kramer artists, the Kramer Eruption is a high-output humbucker pickup with all of the Made to Rock Hard tone and attitude you expect from Kramer. They feature Alnico 5 magnets, 4 wire leads for coil splitting, and short leg baseplates to ensure easy direct replacement for most humbucker-routed guitars. They're also wax potted to remove all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.

"It's really a Gibson 498t with short legs"

My favorite bridge pup is the Gibson 498t but I play a Fender player II tele with Humbuckers. The stock pups sound really good but I fing Alnico II at the bridge a bit Anemic. The 498t has long legs and I wasn't sure it would fit. It's AlnicoV with the DC resistance at about 14.8k I looked around quite a bit and it turns out this Kramer (Gibson) is Alnico V with the DC resistance at 15k and short legs. We'll hot damn. Price is right and I ordered it in Zebra bobbins. Just because I love that look. I also dont like to cover the lugs because they do pick up a little. When it arrived I wired her right in and boy howdy did I make the right call. I'll tell you what, this pickups bass response is firm and not overpowering. She's hot but still with PAF warmth. It's a really good choice for the bridge. I'm putting a Zebra bobbins Pearly Gates in the neck next. Every bit as good as the 498t. I'm very happy with the purchase.
