Where the ES120's included F-1SP footswitch only handles basic sustain on and off, the F-351 reproduces the weighted feel and response of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand's three pedals, including half-pedaling for the kind of nuanced, partial sustain that advanced repertoire calls for.

The F-351 is designed as a matched pair with the Kawai HML-2 designer stand, connecting to the ES120 with a single proprietary round DIN-style cable. It is purpose-built for the ES120 and is not interchangeable with the older ES110's F-350 pedal board or HML-1 stand, which use a different, wider cabinet width and an older rectangular connector.
