zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Use the JHS Prestige Boost as a natural buffer, volume boost or meaty, natural overdrive depending on how much you decide to turn up its single level knob.
Overview
The JHS Pedals Prestige is a booster/buffer/enhancer that will give you that "something", the magic, that you've been looking for. In a simple package, the Prestige can be used as an always-on preamp or buffer, or crank it up to send your amp into natural overdrive that will dazzle audiences far and wide.
The Prestige features one knob for volume. In the first 25%, you have a natural buffer/enhancer that is great for long cable runs or just to add a touch of brightness to your signal. At 25% to 75% the Prestige becomes a volume boost to give you a nice push for solos or to put in front of an overdrive to create more saturation. Above 75% and you'll be sending your amp into a meaty natural breakup by pushing the tubes on your amp. This can be used as a first stage overdrive or a second stage to maintain your other overdrives' tone while giving more of everything you love. It's time you added the JHS Pedals Prestige to your rig so you always have an ace up your sleeve!

Turning the dial to 9 o'clock this pedal becomes a buffer restoring signal loss to long cable runs and pedal chains. Setting the dial between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock it becomes a clean boost that increases volume and overall tone clarity. Turn the dial between 3 o'clock throughout max, it becomes an overdrive pedal when it's plugged into gain channel amps like Vox and Marshalls
Sound
This pedal has 3 modes within the range of its single dial. It does what 3 pedals do in a small enclosure. Buffer, clean volume boost or if set below noon no added volume boost as a clarity boost and overdrive.
Ease of Use
If you use overdrive pedals like Klones, ts 808s, bluesbreakers, distortion pedals you can stack the Prestige pedal with them to either add either increase volume or add more drive
The Wow Factor
If I didn't have this pedal, especially when playing at night I wouldn't be able to use it as a volume attenuator. It brings a Fender Reissue tube amp clean channel like clarity to my Vox Ac10c1 and Marshall Dsl20cr amps. On my Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue amp it doesn't produce the overdrive tone even if I max it it out; but can still be used as both a buffer for my pedalboard and a clean boost. I place it immediately after my compressor pedal, second in the pedal chain. To hear the overdrive effect of this pedal when it is set past 2 o'clock, it needs to plug into the British voiced tube amps that have built in gain channels
