The maple neck is capped with an ebony fretboard that has a compound radius, expanding from 12" to 16" as you move up the neck. This provides a slightly thicker profile at the low frets for easier rhythm playing, and a flatter profile higher up the neck to accommodate string bending and speed runs. The neck is set in through the body and graphite-reinforced for added sustain.
