zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Basswood body. Lo-TRS II bridge.
Overview
Designed by Joe Satriani and Ibanez, this guitar features a very cool sculpted Basswood body that may be the most comfortable guitar you'll ever play. The pickups are IBZ AH1 (neck) & AH2 (bridge) humbuckers, chosen for their searing lead & thick rhythm tonal versatility. Also features a Rosewood fretboard, 1-piece Maple neck, double locking Lo TRS II tremolo, and a coil-tap switch for single coil tones.
Features:
Reduced to the basics, what Joe Satriani wanted from Ibanez was pretty simple: an instrument with a vintage feel and modern features. But when you consider how exacting Joe is in getting just the right tone, it's no surprise that the "simple concept" went on to be one of the longest design projects in Ibanez history. (Joe's Chrome Boy Limited Edition was the longest).
The JS100's neck is a 25.5 in. scale with a round, 12 in. radius for good chording in the low register and more comfortable string bending in the upper frets.
Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, Basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character. For these reasons, Ibanez chose it for the JS100's body.
The Lo TRS II bridge is a floating, low-profile, locking tremolo.
The JS100's pickups were chosen for the perfect blend of tones. The neck pickup is an Ibanez Axis AH1. It's a very responsive, full-sounding, ceramic-magnet humbucker with medium output. It has lots of character… read more and it's excellent for recording. In the bridge position, you'll find an Axis AH2. This Alnico-5-magnet pickup provides full bass sound with clear harmonics and excellent articulation. read less

"this is very nice guitar. It's up there with the Les Pauls and Jacksons."
Sound
you can go from a smooth clean sound with the humbauckers to a screamin noise like just like Joe does. it is used good for rock and soft song like always with me, always with you. it does sound a little different then in a recording but it is better. I play rock, so it works better for me. This product does need a lot of distortion to sound good.
Features
the most usefull feature is it's quality of Ibanez. However it does only have 22 frets. and I like to get the really high notes of 24 frets
Musical Style:
rock, jazz, and alternative
