Overview
Iron Label, the Ibanez made-for-metal series, continues its thunderous offensive on the metal guitar market as its single-cutaway down-tunable wonder, the ARZ, joins the Iron Label.
The ARZ series features a sleek, single cutaway design, 24-fret, ultra-comfort set-in neck with smooth heel, designed for metal music. With a longer 25" scale length, the ARZ series was developed for down tuning -- and the Iron Label treatment.
The ARZIR30 features a Mahogany ARZ set-in Mahogany neck and body, Medium frets, and the ART-1 bridge for superior intonation and sustain. Electronics include an EMG 60 pickup for a classic-thick, buttery tone and an EMG 81 for fluid sustain and blistering high-end that can cut through any mix. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes. With a beautiful black flat finish, bound Ebony fretboard, Pearl/ Abalone block inlays, and Cosmo Black hardware, take the ARZ and Iron Label series to a new level of style of classic elegance.

Used to own an Ibanez ART600 and put EMG 81/85 pickups in it, and I absolutely loved that guitar. This is essentially the same thing but a longer scale, beautiful ebony fretboard instead of rosewood, and a lot lighter than the ART. Nice low action that doesn't buzz even when down-tuned a lot (made minor adjustment for B tuning). If you like Ibanez and a Les Paul style body then I would definitely consider this guitar if you can score it for the $899 price. The only thing I miss about the ART vs ARZ is that the locking tuners on the ART had the auto trimming machine heads, not a deal breaker at all but it was nice.
