As far as acoustics go, I’ve always been drawn to the sounds of the J-45 and J-200, as have more songwriters and performers than one can count. The J-45 being the favorite. I had wanted an acoustic for a long time. Being both reluctant to buy something cheaper only to be left less than satisfied, as well as not being able to justify the cost for a J-45 original. Enter the Gibson G-45 Standard.I am so glad I waited to by an acoustic until finding this guitar. I was initially skeptical as to how much guitar Gibson was offering for the price. I took the chance based on some other early reviews and YouTube demos and I have honestly no regrets at all. This is a guitar suitable to anyone from novice to professional. The sound is warm, full and rich with a punch that projects very well unplugged (which I mainly play) , yet shines as well with a good full range amplifier, not to mention the incredibly smooth playability and comfort this guitar offers the player. Gibson executed an idea with this guitar in flawless fashion. They managed to include virtually the best traits of the J-45 Into an affordable iteration for most of us common men/women that does not leave one wanting or feeling shortchanged. Again, I am very glad I waited to buy an acoustic until I found this. I looked at other brands and having owned my G-45 since April 2020, I don’t believe the others offer a comparable guitar at this price. This is handmade in the USA and at an affordable rate. To find fault with this read more guitar would prove difficult. Lastly, no gig bags here, the case this guitar comes with is again stellar and a surprising inclusion given the already amazing quality and price of the guitar itself.Confident in saying I’m done with my hunt for an acoustic.
