"Gibson Limited Edition L-00 Acoustic: worth a look"

I bought this because of the all-mahogany construction and the tone that wood gives. It's got a deeper sound than you would not get from a spruce top---not as bright.Beautiful look to it---they only made 75 of these so they will be hard to find.
Sound
The sound has a deeper tone than you would find on an L-00 with a spruce top----that's a desirable feature if it's what you are looking for.
Features
Apparently these guitars were pleck'd at the factory, so the setup was perfect. There was a small squirt of glue on the inside edge kerfing that was visible, which for a custom shop model is unacceptable(why didn't the luthier just wipe it off at the time?) but that doesn't affect the tone.
Ease of Use
Strumming with a thumb or fingerpicking will get the best sound out of a small-bodied instrument such as this. Light strumming with a pick works, too, but hard strumming elicits a harsher tone if that's your playing style. The bass is balanced but not like a dreadnought, given the body size. The onboard active pickup is very good and gives a nice amplified sound.
Quality
Properly maintained, this guitar will last a lifetime---don't leave it in a trunk on a hot day!
Value
Look for this used and make an offer---it's at the top of it's price point, probably because they only had a production run of 75. I think they should have gone into full production on this model.
