Overview
The Gibson Single-Pickup 1957 Goldtops are built to the same specs as Historic '57 Les Paul Reissues with a few minor spec changes, including a short neck tenon. With one pickup, a wraparound bridge, no toggle switch and half the control knobs, there is a lot of room on the top of the instrument, making the guitar lighter, more resonant, and a lot of fun to play. It has a great straight-ahead rock n' roll tone with a ton of bite, and the rounded '50s neck profile feels thick and meaty.

This is one of the finer guitars I have ever bought from Gibson Custom. Everything about it was perfect out of the box.The neck is a perfect 50s profile. Not as big as a 58 in my opinion, but it is the happy medium between a 58 and 59. Very comfortable. This thing also loves to stay in tune which is a plus! And I am the type of player who bends the strings like crazy. Don't be fooled by this guitar having a short neck tenon either... some folks will say that it will take sustain away and tone, but this thing packs every bit of sustain and punch as my 59 VOS.Due to the fact that it is one custom bucker, you can use the volume and tone to get about any sound you desire. Extremely versatile and better sounding then most vintage les paul/SG juniors I have owned or played in my time.Do yourself a favor, buy this guitar while you are able to get one. Mad tone that goes on for days!
