zZounds Gear Experts Say...
With a fatter neck, longer pickguard, and thinner body, this guitar delivers unique playability. It comes in an Antique Red or Ebony finish.

The Gibson ES335 Fat Neck puts a great new twist on the original. The Gibson Fat Neck features the chunkier neck dimensions of the 1959 ES-335, as well as the longer pickguard and slightly thinner body of the original '59. The centerblock construction is also period-correct lightweight maple, making this guitar a true joy to play.

Some history - my first electric guitar was a '72 ES-335TD. That was 40 years ago. I sold that guitar 25 years ago because life and other things got in the way. I've lived to regret that decision many, many times. When I saw this one on sale, it seemed a perfect opportunity to get another 335, this time with a bigger neck to suite my aging hands.Fast forward to deliver day.The guitar was shipped fast. I had it within three days of ordering it. Upon opening the case however, it was obvious something was amiss. There was what appeared like red glitter all over the shroud inside the custom shop case - red glitter and sawdust. Upon closer inspection, the guitar had a complete headstock break, and the only thing holding it still attached to the neck was the headstock overlay. Quite possibly the most sickening sight I could imagine at the time. I contacted customer support who was very, very apologetic and responsive. Unfortunately for me, it was the last one they had of the Fatneck version, and though they offered me another Custom Shop semi-hollow, it would not have been the same. Maybe it's true you cannot go back.In ending, I would like to give kudos to zZounds' customer service. It was stellar. They sent out a shipping label immediately and once they recieved the guitar, they refunded my money without further need of action on my part. zZounds is to be commended for their service. Thank you!
