An amp designed for the masses, the EVH 5150III 6L6 combo amp aims to cover all the bases. It's got variable power selection from one to 50 watts, two Celestion speakers, and three channels that go from polite clean to sociopathic distortion.

Three Channels of Madness

Built to fulfill the high-gain fantasies of sadistic metalheads, the 5150 series has become known for raunchy distortion, but this amp offers much more than copious gain. Clean -- the first of its three channels -- offers crisp, clear tones great for blues or even country. On the crunch channel, you'll hear the classic "brown sound" with warm vintage distortion that's responsive to your pick attack. The ridiculous amounts of gain on the lead channel should leave no one wanting more, but if you want to further define your tone, the two sets of three-band EQs along with master presence and reverb give you plenty of tone shaping tools.

Flexibility at All Levels

Make no mistake, the EVH 5150III is one powerful amp. But it can also tone things down when it needs to. With its variable power scaling, the amp can run from between one to 50 watts. This makes it suitable for late night bedroom practice or rocking hundreds of faces with blasting power chords. When you really need to quiet down, the headphone output keeps the sound for your ears only. Other practical features are the two parallel 1/4" outputs with 4/8/16 ohms selectable impedance, MIDI compatibility, and the included four-button footswitch.

EVH 5150III 50 Watt 6L6 2x12 Combo Amp

Brimming with brawny tone, the EVH 5150III 50W 6L6 212 Combo is arena-sized sound in a Celestion powered compact package for more convenient transport.

Redesigned with versatile, all-new independent dual- concentric controls that allow for gain and volume level matching, this 50-watt tube combo amp boasts three channels for any playing style— crisp cleans, raw crunch or searing leads.

Delivering a full-spectrum of tone, channel one features pristine cleans, channel two kicks in with overdrive and heavy gain similar to the EVH 5150III 100S, while channel three oozes with liquid distortion. Channels one and two each have dual concentric gain/volume controls, with shared EQ (low, mid, high). Channel three has its own gain, volume and EQ (low, mid, high) controls. All three channels also have global presence, resonance and reverb controls.

Loaded with dual 12” custom special designed EVH Celestion speakers to enhance and refine both your sound and your style, this combo amp also has seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes, two JJ 6L6 power tubes and front-panel adjustable power output from 50 watts down to one watt.

Other features include a single input, rear-panel selectable output impedance (4, 8 or 16 ohms) with a pair of parallel speaker outputs, rear-panel MIDI input and preamp output, rear-panel effects loop and headphone jack (mutes power amp), and a four-button footswitch that controls all three channels and reverb for easy onstage switching.

The cabinet is constructed out of birch with special internal baffling for tight and increased bass response. Wrapped in stylish Black or Ivory vinyl, the EVH 5150III 50W 6L6 212 Combo is finished off with vintage-style chicken-knobs, red LED jewel indicator, molded black plastic top handle and pop-out casters. This is an old-school tube amp that has the best gain I've ever heard. It is incredibly loud, with all the balls a stack would have, and because of the Celestians, it sounds classic and gorgeous. But wait! It has a power leveler dial so you can sound like a stack at ONE WATT! Pretty cool.You should probably (definitely) grab a noise gate as well. Seriously, you turn this thing on and it sounds like my folk's old Zenith floor model TV lol...but the sound of that gain is worth the hassle of a little noise.I'm currently playing in a country/rock/southern rock band and cut my teeth on classic rock and 80's metal...this amp will handle all with ease.The best amp I've ever owned.RIP Eddie
