Overview

LTD’s TL Series is a transducer-electric instrument collection that provides incredible acoustic tones with the comfortable playability and fast neck feel of an electric guitar. The ESP TL-6 offers high-quality woods and components, like a mahogany body, a 3-piece mahogany neck, and a roasted jatoba fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets, as well as Grover tuners, Graphtech NuBone-XB nut and saddle, and a Fishman SONICORE pickup and TL-3 preamp with on-board tuner. TL-6 models include spruce tops in Black, Natural, and Wine Red finishes as well as flamed maple with Aqua Marine Burst finish and quilted maple with Tiger Eye Burst finish.

I bought this model two years ago (February 2020) from zZounds and had it shipped directly to my luthier for setup, while I was away for the winter. I later found the correct ESP LTD hard case elsewhere (do NOT buy any regular soft or hard case - this guitar is several inches *too long* overall to fit in any of them). This guitar is strikingly beautiful in person. The active electronics are very good. The sound is FULL (not boomy, just much louder than most humbucker electrics and very clean). The bridge is set far (4 inches) toward the neck from the usual location - this makes the whole neck much more accessible. Played through both tube electric and solid-state acoustic amps, this guitar is a standout instrument. NOTE: The fret markers and side markers are too small to see easily - so I had my luthier add large oval fret markers (so that I can play jazz chords up the neck in low light settings).
