I am not a beginner when it comes to guitar, I have been playing for over 20 years. I've always been intrigued by Les Paul's (what guitar player wasn't when they were younger, or am I alone?), and vowed to get one. I finally got one, and actually got another just recently. In between purchasing those two, I got an ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000, which I was seriously impressed with, so I thought if the LTD ESP's are this great, the Japanese ESP Eclipse's have to be superb, and I wasn't wrong! Some may consider what I am about to say "insane" and others will probably agree, but my new Tobacco Sunburst ESP Eclipse E-II is leaps and bounds above my Gibson Les Paul. The Flame Maple top is more defined and beautiful, the neck feels great, the fingerboard is remarkable, the hardware is beyond clean and pristine, and the sound coming from the Duncan PUPS (SH-1 and SH-4) are absolutely amazing, crisp, and hot! You can get bluesy, jazzy tones to hard rock and heavier sounds from this bad boy, as well as sustain for days. I h ave honestly thought about selling my Paul's and getting an ESP Eclipse Custom, or even a USA made ESP. You get WAY more than you pay for, unlike Gibson, who lately give you less than you pay for (my 2014 has serious finish issues that look like a 9 year old applied the nitro finish). Do I still love playing my Les Paul's? Yes, they are an iconic guitar, but I have no problem replacing them with more ESP's! You will NOT regret your purchase, and I am so confident in that…
