I’ve had my eye on this guitar for some time, but I always had reservations about getting one because I assumed it’d feel fragile or cheap. But in an effort to find a good songwriting partner, I gave it a chance, and I could not have been more excited to say that I was completely wrong.First, the negatives. There’s not many to go over, but I figure I should get it out of the way. The setup out of the box left a little to be desired. Though the intonation was spot on, the action was pretty high. Not unplayable, by any means, just a little uncomfortable. The tailpiece has some buzzing and rattling issues, I’ve solved that with some small pieces of felt between the ball of the string and the slot in the tailpiece. Those are really the only issues I’ve found. A more personal issue is the pickups, I don’t love them, but I think it’s just because I haven’t figured out what they want as far as EQ goes. Now for the positive. I could gush about it for hours, so I’ll try to keep it brief and concise. Once I gave it a proper setup, it plays beautifully. The action feels great, and there’s no buzzing against the frets. The acoustic sound is genuinely amazing, for a thinline hollowbody, it sounds rich and full and sweet. If you do any touring or travel, you obviously want something a bit more sturdy, but it’s pretty well padded, and has a pretty large pocket on the front for any accessories you’d need. The biggest negative for the bag is the smell. It just reeks of chemicals and glue fumes. It’s something that will go away in time, but it’s definitely something to note. all in all, it’s just a fantastic guitar. With all the price hikes we’ve seen in the last couple years, it’s honestly just amazing that this is as great as it is for the price. Even compared to much higher end instruments, it absolutely holds its own. I’ve only had it for about a week, but it’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
