What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Mahogany body Rich, warm, focused sound; added sustain
Arched laminated quilted maple top Excellent projection, beautiful "wavy" grain
Slim Taper, D-shaped Comfortable "wide flat" neck profile
25.5-inch scale Increases string tension for tighter bottom end

The Epiphone Limited Edition Nighthawk Custom Quilt celebrates one of Epiphone's most original and treasured designs with a beautiful custom AAA Quilt Maple Veneer Top. When the Nighthawk was first introduced in 1993, it was a truly modern guitar--a complete departure from "tradition" with its 25.5" scale length and its versatile combination of coil-splitting humbucker and single coil pickups. Break-through designs don't always catch on right away. Such was the case with many now-iconic guitars including the Flying-V, the Explorer and even the Les Paul. But original Nighthawk fans knew it was a supremely versatile axe that made it possible for one player to sound like a dozen different guitars at the flip of a switch. And today, a new generation is discovering the Limited Edition Nighthawk Custom Quilt and its powerful pickup combination and beautiful finish.

At first un boxing its a little strange the guitar is extremely light an the body really small...with a long scale of 25.5 it looked odd...however...,playing through my Boss GT1 and some powered speakers this guitar Rocks.... easy to finger...the contour is so comfortable and the 5 way selector with coil splitting makes this guitar a versatile powerhouse! The Blue is a little brighter than depicted but it looks great...I love it
