No longer available at zZounds
Epiphone captures the classic style and responsive feel of a genuine Hummingbird acoustic, along with an added cutaway, at a price almost anyone can afford!

The Epiphone Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic-Electric puts a new twist on the 60s classic with an elegant cutaway plus the new Fishman Sonitone and Sonicore pickup system for superior acoustic tone when plugged in. This Epiphone Hummingbird Performer PRO is available in Ebony and Faded Cherry finishes and limited in production.

The History of the Hummingbird:

The Hummingbird acoustic guitar was first released in 1960 and was the first Gibson & Epiphone dreadnaught guitar. With its distinctive *square* shoulder, it quickly became a rock classic thanks in part to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Hummingbird on hits like "Play With Fire" and "Under My Thumb." Today, the Hummingbird is still considered a superb rhythm guitar for its woody tone and easy action along with its distinctive "Hummingbird" pickguard. Now with Fishman Sonitone and Sonicore pickup system, you can plug in the Hummingbird Performer PRO and get true acoustic tone on any size stage.

Solid Spruce Tone wood:

The Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric has a select Mahogany body and a Solid Spruce top with a beautiful cutaway never seen before on a Hummingbird. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that will sound even better as it ages. The more you play, the better it sounds! The select Mahogany neck has 24.75* scale and a classic SlimTaper D profile and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The pau ferro fingerboard has pearloid parallelogram inlays, 20 medium read more frets, a 12" radius, and a 1.69" nut. There is white binding on the fingerboard and 5-ply white & black binding on the body top. The classic sloped dove-wing headstock has Epiphone "Deluxe* 18:1 machine heads and the iconic *Epiphone" logo in white. The Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric's reverse belly bridge has a compensated saddle for smooth action and intonation. And the pickguard has the same vintage "Hummingbird" design as the first generation of Hummingbird acoustics from the early 60s.

9V battery not included.

This is my second epiphone. Both arrived in perfect condition, and with looks and tone far surpassing their price. I realize it's made in Indonesia, but the quality is outstanding. I just couldn't justify the difference in price for a Gibson Hummingbird, as the sound and tone is excellent in the epiphone. I probably will have it set up by my local tech , and add a bone nut and bridge which doesn't cost much. but I'm really satisfied with the sound now. Seriously, this guitar is perfect for any occasion.
