Experience clear lead and background vocals in both live and home recording situations with a performance quality vocal mic by Electro-Voice.

The Electro-Voice N/D267 is designed for high-quality vocal use in live sound and home recording situations. The N/D267 is a member of a family of microphones that are manufactured with refinements that enhance sonic smoothness, improve gain-before-feedback, and provide more consistent performance with greater durability than earlier generations of N/DYM microphones. The N/D267's acoustic response is tuned to achieve an extended frequency range with improved transient response, presenting clear lead and background vocals without the need for excessive equalization. Where exceptional vocal clarity is desired, the N/D267 is the microphone of choice.

As in all N/DYM microphones, the N/D267 features EV's outstanding neodymium-iron-boron magnetic structure to provide greater sensitivity and an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio. In addition, the N/DYM magnet geometry, combined with a large reinforced diaphragm design, produces a smooth, extended frequency response with a warm, open, and transparent sound quality normally found only in studio-quality microphones.

N/DYM microphones feature EV's AcoustiDYM shock-mount system. This unique vibration isolating system works as a multistage device. At low frequencies, a rear sound wave cancels the diaphragm motion while, at high frequencies, the specially designed rubber shock mount isolates the transducer from motion. Combining AcoustiDYM with the elastomeric Warm-Grip handle and the windscreen bumper produces an advanced technology, vibration-isolating read more system which dramatically reduces all forms of handling noise for the most demanding situations.

The N/D267 employs a cardioid polar pattern, providing enhanced front-area sensitivity and acoustic rejection directly behind the microphone, reducing feedback under live performance conditions. This is particularly useful with typical monitor speaker placement and high sound pressure level (SPL) requirements. Additionally, the N/D267's polar patterns are unusually uniform with frequency, ensuring superior gain-before-feedback in live applications and superior isolation when used in the studio. The N/D267 pop filters unique design utilizes a specially processed Acoustifoam filter to minimize wind noise and vocal P-pops. This design makes the pop filter an integral part of the microphones removable front grille assembly, allowing easy cleaning for continued top performance. The N/D267S has the added feature of an easily accessible on/off switch.

The N/D267s low-frequency response varies with the distance of the sound source to the microphone. This is known as proximity effect. Maximum bass response is produced in close-up use with the microphone 1/4-inch from the sound source. Minimal bass response is experienced at distances greater than 24 inches. By working closer to the microphone, the human voice will sound more robust. Working the microphone close-up will also reduce the potential for feedback from a PA sound system. This benefit is in addition to the feedback-reducing cardioid polar pattern. When close-talked, the substantial bass boost provides an increase in overall microphone output level. The mixer gain may be proportionately reduced, resulting in a reduction of the systems sensitivity to feedback caused by sound entering the microphone from the loudspeakers.

The dynamic element of the N/D267 will provide reliable operation in extreme temperature, humidity and other adverse conditions that would render typical condenser microphones useless. These N/D267 features will provide years of trouble-free operation.

- Cardioid polar pattern for superior feedback rejection and acoustic isolation
- Large-diaphragm for extended frequency response
- Superior multistage shock mount for unmatched low handling noise
- Handles high SPLs without distortion

i am an amateur singer so can't comment much. i have a senheiser e895 so i can compare to that. the gain on this mic is definitely higher so i can stay a little farther away from the mic and it still picks up my words clearly. Good buy in my opinion
Sound quality is very good. I sing and the vocals are clear even from 9 inches away. The highs seem to be compressed a little though.. maybe it is my setup but that is what i observed
the build is rugged. I bought a used one and there are hardly any scratches. looks like the previous owner was a big tobacco chewer so the mic smells of that but other than that its solid
the used mic sells for less than half the original price and definitely worth the money
