10 analog input channels. XLR/TRS, 1/4 in., RCA inputs.
Overview
The M-100FX is a 10-channel Audio mixer with a number of useful voice and sound processing effects. The M-100FX is designed to primarily target the video editing market with such features as direct USB connection to computer, voice effects suited for voice-overs, and a variety of input types, including XLR/TRS, 1/4 in., and RCA inputs. The many inputs allow the video editor to record from most any source straight into the computer without the added noise common with most internal sound cards. The M-100FX also has phantom power for use with high-end condenser microphones more suited to narration. Although the M-100FX is clearly targeting the video market, the particular tool set will fit most any small computer-based audio studio.
Features:
10 analog input channels
Variety of inputs including; XLR/TRS, 1/4 in., RCA inputs
Voice and sound processing effects ideal for video editing
Digital out in both coax and optical
Noise-free audio recording to the computer through USB interface
The M-100FX offers 2 independently controlled inputs and 4 stereo pairs of inputs that have a wide variety of connection options, including Neutrik XLR/TRS connections with phantom power, 1/4 in. and RCA inputs. Channels 1 & 2 and each subsequent pair of channels has its own Pan control, Volume slider, Hi & Low EQ and an Aux send. In addition to the 10 channels, the M-100FX also offers separate Monitor, Master, and Headphone outputs. There is a separate volume control for audio returning to the… read more M-100FX through USB.
The effects section of the M-100FX offers very intuitive control using only a few different controls. These include an effect selector, 2 parameter controls, a wet/dry control, a reverb type selector, and a reverb time control. This allows the M-100FX to be both easy to use and powerful by offering only the basic controls needed to get good sound and not drowning the video editor in excessive audio parameter.
The most impressive feature of this 10-channel mixer is the ability to send the Master out straight to the computer through USB without going through another interface. This allows for a cleaner signal and helps to conserve desktop real estate. Because the M-100FX performs the A/D conversion away from the other components of the computer, the audio signal will not suffer from as much electrical interference before it becomes a digital signal. The M-100FX also allows the user to monitor audio already captured to the computer. This is helpful for assembling voice-overs and other important audio work for video editors.
