Man, I was really impressed when I played through this amp the first time. I went into a Marshall Origin 2x12 cab, and It rocked. It sounds even better throuh my Mesa Theile cabinet 1x12.
The sounds this amp can make are many. It is so tweakable. This is not like the other “Mini” heads. It is so versatile. I can get sounds appropriate for Country, Jazz, Rock, Blues, Metal. I was really thinking this might be a one trick pony like the Friedman and Soldano mini amps when I ordered it. But man was I surprised when I plugged into it.
This amp feature three mini switches. They alter the sound quite distinctly. The Variac is really useful as well as the midrange options.
Ease of Use
There is a bit of a learning curve with the mini switches, but the amp is easy to dial in. It just takes a little experimenting as it offers so many more tonal options than the Soldano or Friedman mini’s.
The housing seems solid on this amp. Good fit and finish, and the grill cloth is a nice touch.
A just $249.00 this amp punches way above its class.
Manufacturer Support
I never had to deal with the company that makes this amp as there were no problems, only solutions.
The Wow Factor
This amp has an effects loop which I was surprised that it had. This must be the lowest priced amp to have one. This amp sounds like a tube amp. It has ruined me for my other solid state amps.
